Overview

Working in conjunction with Caddick Construction Ltd and York City Council, Deseco designed, supplied and installed a heat pump system and renewable energy generation to a residential development at Duncombe Barracks comprising 34 units, built to Passivhaus standards.

Solution

We supplied and installed a 3.5 Kw Vaillant aroTHERM air source heat pump, and a 200-litre cylinder with 28mm coil, incorporating a buffer tank and connected to the existing network of radiators. We incorporated clean energy generation in the form of a 5kW solar photovoltaic array, as well as installing Zehnder Multi Vent Heat Recovery Units (MVHR) to maximise total system efficiency.
